Military Homecomings. I just love them. Back when my husband was stationed in Fort Riley, KS I photographed a lot of them. I was extremely sad when my husband finished his contract with the Army, because that meant that we had to move away and I couldn't do these type of sessions anymore. Boy was I wrong. We moved to the beautiful Pacific North West, right into Spokane and, to my surprise, there is an Air Force Base here! My heart was filled with joy, I could continue doing these homecoming ceremonies for all the military families! Yay! This session was very special. Mikinzie had contacted me about a Homecoming Session at the Spokane International Airport (GEG) Planning for the Future with super short notice - her husband was going to be home the next day! I'm so thankful that I was available for her and her family that day, and that I could take these images, make this slideshow, and just be there for this special occasion. You see, this was their FOURTH deployment together. But the first one for their baby Tristan. He was just shy of 2 months old when mission called and his daddy had to leave him. Thankfully, Adam made it back home to them safe and sound - and oh were there tears of joy when he first laid eye on his son and wife. The first thing he said was "You got so big!". Yes. Instant tears. This homecoming was absolutely beautiful and I am just so thankful I got to be part of it! Thank you so much, Hein Family. And once again, Welcome Home Staff Sergeant Hein! Watch the video below for more images from this amazing homecoming!
