Spokane Washington / Lavender Farm Sessions / Fleur De Provence Lavender Farm / Green Bluff / Spokane Photographer
We all know it.
We all know how beautiful it looks, how it fills the air with its wonderful scent.
But have you EVER been to a lavender FARM?
Let me tell you: it's a whole nother thing....
I have had this idea brewing in my head for quite some time - holding a day of sessions at a lavender farm. A quick google search lead me to the Fleur De Provence Farm.
It was perfect.
I called the owner, Maggie, and we chatted on the phone about everything I had envisioned. She was more than happy to accommodate me and all my Clients, and I want to give her a huge shout out along with a heartfelt "thank you"!
Please check out her farm, it's a perfect spot to shop and support a local business, on top of enjoying a beautiful view and smell.

Unfortunately, I couldn't bottle up the delightful scent and share it in a blog post...
But what I could do was take my Clients there and capture the beautiful colors and views we got to enjoy at Fleur De Provence Lavender Farm. Take a look!
The Johnson Family
The lavender session was the 4th time the Johnson family and I have worked together, but this was the first time I got to meet their newest addition to their family - little baby Augustus. For this pose I told Kalila to cuddle with and "breathe in her little baby". Moms always know exactly what that means. She responded to me and said "you're going to make me cry", and proceeded to snuggle up with her son, who was barely two weeks old at the time of our session.
I remember that feeling, the feeling of holding this tiny human in my hands. This tiny human that I had just met, but already loved with all that I was, all that I will ever be. It's such a powerful and simply beautiful feeling. I'm sure you know what I mean.
Congratulations again, Johnson Family!
Dylan & Grace
Let me start by saying WOW! I absolutely loved the way these kids were dressed. Talk about the perfect outfit. The colors worked so well with the beautiful sunset we had at the lavender field. The lace dress, the khaki shorts and light shirt, and the flower crown? Oh, don't get me started!
These two siblings cracked up at my prompts and jokes and I got to capture their real smiles. I even got the teenage boy to enjoy our session by being my goofy self.
Yes. We totally nailed this session.
The Kalous Family
I laughed SO much during this session. This was such a fun family to work with and I don't think I have the ability to describe how cute and witty these girls were, but I'm going to try anyway.
Fun fact: Honey Bees love Lavender.
There were thousands of bees there, but of course they're the good kind of bees, the nice and friendly ones. The ones that make yummy honey.
Claire, the youngest, was worried she was going to get stung. We kept reassuring her, telling her it was okay and after spending about 10 minutes in the field, I could see she was still a bit worried. So I turned to her and said: "You know, I've been here aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall day and the bees haven't stung me yet!"
She looked at me, dead serious and with such maturity and said: "Exactly. Have not yet."
Touché kid. Touché.
This, and so many other comments and comeback lines just made my whole day. I truly enjoyed spending time with this family. And their good lucks was the cherry on top!
The Quimby Kids
See that little girl on the right? That's Pippa. I met her right after I moved to Spokane. Back then Pippa was in foster care. The Quimby family had taken her in when she was just a few days old. A lot has changed since the last time I saw her. Pippa got a lot taller, she started walking, her hair grew. But besides the obvious changes that come with "age", the most important thing that has changed since I last saw her -- is Pippa's last name.
The Quimby's officially adopted her last year and I finally got to capture all 4 of the Quimby siblings at once at my lavender farm sessions.
The Barnard Family
These two love birds were one of my first Clients when I moved from Kansas to Washington - almost exactly two years ago we did an extended family session. It was such a blast back then and I was extremely excited when she contacted me again for the lavender field sessions.
This time - it was just the two of them. They wanted photos of just them, to celebrate their 12th anniversary. I know right? She doesn't look a day over 20!
12 years ... what an accomplishment, but after having spent a little bit of time with them after all our sessions, I'm not surprised. Not at all. These two are SO in love with each other, you can definitely see it. I didn't even have to try to get them to show their feelings for each other, they did it on their own. Pure love and affection.
It made heart my heart happy.
Ashley & Frankie
Ashley is another local Photographer and I was so excited to finally finally finally work with her. Spending time with her and her fiance Frankie truly made my heart smile. The way they talk to each other, the way they look at each other - you could honestly FEEL the love they share for one another. I'm so excited they are tying the knot later this month because they are perfect for each other!
The Ash Family
I met Tara and her little family during my first fall season here in Spokane and I just love that they came back to see me! I remember one of the photos I took back then was of just the two kids. Amelia was sitting on her brother's lap, he was tickling her and both of them had the cutest smile on their faces. When Tara contacted me to book her lavender field session this year, this photo immediately jumped into my mind.
I just had to recreate it!
The kids have changed quite a bit since I last saw them. Amelia was this tiny, shy little girl back then. But this time she was full of energy and eager to get her photos taken. Charles got taller and more handsome, but was the same happy little boy as the one I had met years before. They had a great time tickling and playing with each other in the lavender field - and I archived my goal and recreated the photo I had taken of them years before - check it out!

All in all, I had an amazing time with all my Clients at Fleur De Provence Lavender Farm in Green Bluff. I am eternally grateful they all hired and trusted me to capture these previous moments for them and their families.
I love my job.
